Hello, fellow book lovers! We've got some wonderfully thrilling updates from the queen of psychological suspense, Freida McFadden, that we simply must share over a virtual cuppa. It's been an incredibly busy few months for our beloved author, with exciting news spanning new releases and major screen adaptations.
Perhaps the most exciting buzz is around her recent novel, *The Divorce*, which hit shelves on May 26th and has already been snapped up for a movie adaptation by Studiocanal and Working Title! Imagine diving into those twists and turns on the big screen. Meanwhile, we've also seen the paperback release of *The Housemaid's Wedding* in June and the hardcover of *Brain Damage* in August, giving us plenty to keep our minds racing. And for those who can't get enough, a special *Housemaid Box Set* has also been a highlight this year, perfect for new fans or collectors.
Beyond her prolific writing, Freida McFadden has been making waves in the literary world, having been nominated for Author of the Year at the prestigious British Book Awards earlier this year, with her novel *The Tenant* also shortlisted for Crime & Thriller Book of the Year. Her phenomenal success continues to draw Hollywood's eye, with her bestselling novel *The Teacher* also officially in development as a feature film by Apple Original Films, where Freida herself will serve as an executive producer. It's truly a testament to her captivating storytelling that so many of her works are finding new life on screen.
It’s also been a fascinating year for getting to know the author behind the books, as Freida McFadden, whose real name is Sara Cohen, revealed her true identity in an interview earlier this year, sharing more about her journey and why she chose to write under a pseudonym. We even heard about a Freida McFadden Book Club event in Greensboro, North Carolina, in September, dedicated to discussing her gripping psychological thrillers. It’s clear that her unique blend of suspense and unforgettable characters continues to resonate deeply with readers everywhere.
